Roman Cody Foster

Owner / Designer at Southern Sands Design

Roman’s Concept Store located in Wilton Manors, FL features unique interiors and floral design. The décor is authentically crafted, and nature inspired. Roman derives the essence of his “Mountain Meets Sea” look from his Appalachian roots, his appreciation for nature, and his longtime love for coastal life. Hardwoods, native foliage, fauna-inspired materials and earthy palettes are utilized to create one-of-a-kind pieces that function to provide your home with a tranquil escape from hectic modern-day urban life.

Roman received his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters in English Education from Western Carolina University. His background in literature inspired Roman to utilize floral / interior design to create spaces and pieces that tell a story.

Roman’s shop was recently showcased in Go Riverwalk Magazine as their “Small Business of the Month”, featured in Florida Home & Garden Magazine’s “Design Buzz”, appeared on the popular “SoFlo Home Project” show with Design Expert Martin Amado, and won the Salvation Army Red Shield ReDesign Bash’s – “People’s Choice Award”.

Prior to opening Southern Sands, Roman was the Member Relations Director at the Tower Club Fort Lauderdale, South Florida’s premiere business networking club. Roman currently serves as the Events Coordinator for Sister Cities International Fort Lauderdale. He was the founder of TC Internationals Exchange. He is a member of the Pride Center’s Founders Circle, ArtsUnited, Club MOD & a Renand Foundation Sponsor.

In his free time, Roman enjoys fitness training at G21 & Intense Fitness, creating art, traveling, and spending time with family including his dogs Julien, Apache & cat Tom-tom. He is a member at Lago Mar Beach Club, Tower Club, King Mountain Club, & Grand Sirenis Beach Club.

Roman is excited to be nominated as a 2019 HANDY Prom King candidate and encourages everyone to contribute to this life-changing organization. As a former teacher, he has the utmost appreciation for HANDY and the personalized services they provide on a day-to-day basis for the local youth of Broward County.
