HANDY’s mission is to achieve positive, lasting change for youth by providing life skills, education and a supportive community.

Founded in 1985, HANDY has met the needs of more than 50,000 Broward County children in foster and relative / non-relative care associated with the child dependency system.

Children and youth ages nine to 25 years old, who have been removed from their homes due to domestic violence, substance abuse, physical and/or sexual abuse, and abandonment, and others.

PROGRAMS

HANDY’s LIFE Program is the first of its kind in the state of Florida, and it serves youth who do not qualify for Foster Care Independent Living programs.

HANDY’s LIFE Program provides individual in-school and in-home tiered case management and counseling services.

HANDY’S Education and Career Development department is the last component of the LIFE program (education and employment).
