The Holiday Gift Program is the most ambitious and heartwarming undertaking of our entire year. HANDY members, foundations, corporate donors, and community individuals and businesses step forward to make holiday wishes come true for the kids. Special thanks to the Sun-Sentinel Children’s Fund for their on-going support. We filled wishes and worked to the very last minute to ensure that no child we could help would go through the holiday season without a gift. Despite the devastation of Hurricane Wilma, 1,252 children received gifts last year.

Thanks to board, staff and volunteers at HANDY, the Thanksgiving “Adopt a Family” Program provided 189 of our neediest children and their families with gift certificates to purchase a turkey and food items with which to enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving. Funds were donated by HANDY members and friends for food store gift cards; in lieu of baskets this year due to Hurricane Wilma.
